It's not only about me

At Cross Cultural Conversations we believe that our time, money, skills and resources should also be used to make a contribution to our beautiful country and the people of South Africa. In practice that means involvement in community projects on a corporate level, as a business, as well as by individual members in their personal capacity.

Examples of community related activities since the founding of CCC include the following:
  • Basic household budgeting workshop at Maitland Community Church
  • Adult literacy classes to farm workers on Altydgedacth Wine Estate in Durbanville
  • Administrative support to The Homeless People Federation in Philippi
  • Youth leadership development in Kayamandi
  • Facilitation of diversity discussions for community volunteers
  • Participation in community training sessions with the aims of exposure and education

  • Please contact us if you would like to obtain more information on any of these initiatives. Sibusisiwe Community Care is also a very useful place to start - they link people who would like to make a difference with the needs of the community in the Western Cape.

The Reconciliation and Social Reconstruction Programme of the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation seeks to promote processes of reconciliation in post-apartheid South Africa. The IJR has produced a number of very useful publications and is actively involved in research and practical social interventions. CCC is in the process of establishing a partnership with the Institute.
